CONCERT: THE WLDLFE
/5/5
Indianapolis based indie-pop band, The Wldlfe, came back from some unwanted tour time off in 2020 and played their first show back in Nashville, TN Friday night (July 9th, 2021) at Exit/in
I just moved to music city, Nashville, a couple months ago, and as ~nature heals~ shows are coming back. I was more than eager to get to a show.
The Wldlfe has been on my list of bands I’ve been wanting to see for a couple years now. I honestly came in to the show with no expectations.. I was just happy to see a concert again. However, The Wldlfe on paper may be your ‘up-and-coming-band’ but they sure don’t play like it. I enjoyed their set so much, I almost forgot they weren’t headlining. Fans cheered for an encore they did so well!
Their setlist seemed to focus on their most recent quarantine release, Repaint My Mind, 2021. They opened with album starter “Forgive and Forget” and closed with the ever iconic ‘Blood Orange’. Sprinkled in there though were songs of theirs dating back to their 2016 discography including “Somebody’s Gonna Love You” and “Waterfalls”. My only complaint was they didn’t play my favorites “Oversentimental” ,“New Age Meds” and “The Other Side”. That just means I need to see them again soon though right?
As I stood there in the audience before their set, it was really nice to see the Wldlfe’s fans make friends with everyone around them in the crowd. That only made the show a better experience because the crowd became a community.
