For anyone who hasn’t listened to your music, how would you describe it?

High energy fun alternative pop rock.

What do you think makes your sound unique, and different from all the rest in your genre?

I don't think we view ourselves as unique in anyway.  We just do us. There are no walls when it comes to writing and our show. We don't put ourselves in any genre especially when writing. A good song is a good song. We as individuals have so many influences that come through in our songs and on stage. That’s a big part of New Politics I think. The fact that we incorporate all of that into what we do and it becomes what the world sees.

You guys have taken the radio by storm. I swear whenever I turn to the alternative station your previous hit single “Harlem” is always playing! Where were you the first time you heard New Politics on the radio? How did it feel?

The first time we heard Harlem on the radio we were driving through the Grape Vine in CA. It was like 4am we were sleeping in our van at the time. The song came on and all three of us popped up from our benches and started freaking out. It was amazing.

New Politics currently just got done touring with Fall Out Boy and Paramore. What did you learn from touring with FOB and Paramore that you are going to take with you on your headlining tour “Everywhere I Go”?

We've learned so much from both of these bands. Just being on tour with them and seeing how professional things run really taught us a lot. I think just watching them perform every night and work the crowd the way they do really left a mark on us. We really took in a lot on the production side of things too. We've never had lights or anything like that on our previous tours. On the Everywhere I Go tour we added a lighting tech and a monitor tech on top of our crew which makes a giant difference as far as our show and our performance.

When fans come out to a show this fall, what can they expect from a New Politics show?

A ton of fun, sweat, and loud music. We try to make sure everyone leaves our shows with a memory.

What is your favorite thing about performing live?

I think our favorite thing about performing live is the fans. There is no way to explain the energy of a bunch of kids singing and loving your songs. It is truly the greatest acknowledgment for us.

Speaking of “Everywhere I Go” you currently just released your new single “Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)” .  Care to share the story behind the song, or what inspired it?

“Everywhere I Go” is inspired by all the success “A Bad Girl in Harlem” brought to us. Writing “A Bad Girl in Harlem” was a rough time for us. When Harlem starting doing well we were beyond thankful. “Everywhere I Go” is about all the good times and fun we've had along this amazing ride. There’s always going to be haters and we've learned that as well. This song is to them and to all the people who stuck with us and never stopped listening.

When can we expect from there new album?

You can expect good times and great songs. We are so proud and excited to release this record and I think the reason why is because we were in such a good place while writing it. Just the three of us enjoying life and writing about experiences together on the road. It was an amazing feeling that comes through in many of the songs on the album.

What is your typical writing and recording process like?

It varies. Sometimes one of us will come up with a melody or a beat and we will write around that and bounce ideas off each other. Other times someone will come up an almost completed idea and we will work on the finishing touches together. When recording we keep it simple, laid back, and fun. Can’t take yourself too seriously or else you forget why you’re doing what you’re doing in the first place.

Any plans for after tour yet?

Finish recording our record and get ready for a whole other year of touring!

Anything else you would like to add? Thanks guys!

Thank you very much for all your support and interest. As always we have to thank our fans for being so awesome. Without them we could never do what we do. THANK YOU!!
